House FAQ's

House League - Frequently Asked Questions

When will the House League season begin and end?

Pinto, Mustang and Bronco House League typically runs from early April through early June.  Team and coach assignments will be announced in late March / early April. 

T-Ball has two roughly 4 week sessions, with session 1 running  early May to early June, and session 2 running mid June to mid July.

How many games and practices will there be?

Please note that schedules for all levels are subject to change due to weather and enrollment.   Our goal is have our teams playing as much baseball as possible, so make-up sessions may be scheduled on days and times different than those mentioned below.

T-Ball:

Two sessions:  Session I – early May to early June; Session II – mid June to mid July.  Practices and games will be held on one weeknight per week and on Saturdays, time to be determined.

Pinto:

Early April through early June;  Practices and games will be held on two weeknights per week and on Saturday mornings. 

Mustang:

Weather permitting, teams will play 2 to 3 games per week: usually 1  weeknight game and 1 practice (5:30 PM start, Tuesday through Thursday), and single game or double header on Saturdays.  Depending on weather, plan on 1 to 2 double headers per season, per team.

Practice sessions are held throughout the season.  Each team has several practices before opening day, then a practice every 1 to 2 weeks during the season. Practice are usually held on weeknights (Tuesday through Thursday), and additional practice dates may be scheduled by your team’s coach.

Typically, each team will play approximately 14 games (plus playoffs) and have an additional 7 to 10 practice sessions.

Bronco :

Weather permitting, teams will play 2 to 4 games per week: usually 2 weeknight games and an occassional practice (5:30 PM start, Tuesday through Thursday), and a single game or double header on Saturdays.  Depending on weather, plan on 1 to 2 double headers per season, per team.

What kind of equipment does my child need for House League?

LBBA supplies jerseys and hats for each House League team.   We also supply:

  • Baseballs
  • Catching  equipment
  • Batting helmets
  • A selection of baseball bats for kids to use, or you can bring your own (subject to league bat restruction rules)

Players need to supply:

  • Baseball glove
  • Athletic shoes / cleats
  • Pants
    • T-Ball & Pinto:  any athletic pants are fine
    • Mustang and above: white or grey baseball pants
  • Long sleeve shirts / sweatshirts are recommended (worn under jerseys) for cold Illinois spring weather
  • Jackets can be worn over jerseys while players are in the bench area
  • Water bottle
